Key Qualifications

- Human rights and child rights activist for the last three decades and has experiences of working with NGOs with focused on children’s rights. He has gained a wide range of knowledge working with Concern for Children and Environment Nepal (CONCERN) and experiences of partnership working with I/NGOs and UN Agencies such as ILO and UNICEF. Dr. Sainju had traveled more than 60 districts, out of 77 districts, both in remote and urban areas of Nepal. Likewise, he gained a wide range of knowledge with international travel experience in more than 40 countries around the world.

- Involving in coordinating a several researches on Child labor issues in Nepal especially in the hazardous sectors of child labor. Hence, he has gained experiences in running project for the ultimate eradication of child labor in Nepal. Dr. Sainju presented a comprehensive paper entitled "Rescue, Rehabilitation and Prevention Child Labor" during a national consultation program organized by ILO/IPEC and UNICEF held in Kathmandu in 1998.

- Served as the Board of Directors of Central Child Welfare Board (CCWB) under the Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare for the year 2007/08 and played a role of serving as Head of Child Care Homes Monitoring Committee in Nepal. He bears the capacity to work with government line agencies in more collaborative manner.

- The founder President of Consortium of Child Participation, a network consisting more that 70 organizations. Dr. Sainju is he active members of CONCERN/Geneva Solidarity Group based in Switzerland. Dr. Sainju is Chairperson of National Alliance of Child Rights Organizations (NACRO). Likewise, he Served as Coordinator of PPCC a national network i.e., Partnership for Protecting Children in Armed Conflict during 2015.

3. Organized more than 100 child participatory activities such as open child painting competition, child speech competition, essay writing competition, poetry competition, sports competition, other fun activities, etc.

4. Organized several multi ethnic cultural and linguistic activities among ethnic minorities groups in Nepal.

International Experiences

- Dr. Sainju attended international conference on UNCRC 25 years in Leiden, Netherlands organized by Leiden University in 2015. And also had attended 20th International Congress of ISPCAN (International Society for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect) from September 14 to17, 2014 held in Nagoya City of Japan, where he presented a paper on Corporal Punishment of children in Nepal. Dr. Sainju had participated in an international conference on Child Survival Call to Action, organized by USAID from July 14-15, 2012 in Washington DC, USA. The program was convened by India, Ethiopia and Unicef. Likewise, Dr. Sainju was invited by CAC (Children of Arm Conflict) group of UN Security Council held on 9th of August, 2012 in New York, where he had participated on behalf of PPCC a national network for partnership in protecting children in armed conflict. Dr. Sainju was the Coordinator of the PPCC network established in 2005. Besides, followings are international experiences that Dr. Sainju had gained for the last 3 decades.
